Jason Holder, a talented all-rounder for the West Indies, is keen to return to the longest format. The Indian Premier League (IPL) should not take precedence over domestic cricket, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has cautioned its centrally contracted players and members of the broader target pool. Manoj Tiwary, a former cricket player from India, feels that this has just highlighted the issues he has raised over the years regarding India’s first-class tournament. Tiwary detailed numerous problems with the domestic cricket system in a recent X (previously Twitter) post. He said he thought the direction from the BCCI might not have been approved if he hadn’t posted it on X. He said, “As a result of his post, the BCCI secretary has now put pressure on the players.”

The Caribbean Premier League’s newest team, the Antigua and Barbuda Falcons, has been revealed (CPL). They took the position of the Jamaica Tallawahs, who disbanded following the competition in 2023. The new franchise owners had a grand inauguration ceremony at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, which will also be their home field for the 2017 league season. After ten years, professional cricket is finally returning to Antigua with this historic event. Unless the administration chooses to add further teams, it is understood that the CPL purchased the Tallawahs franchise from its previous owners and is committed to having a club located in Jamaica by 2025, making the league a seven-team event. Businessman Kris Persaud, of Florida, controlled the Jamaica team at the time; he later acquired the Antigua and Barbuda Falcons. He acknowledged that he couldn’t run the Jamaican team and made the decision to buy a new team in order to make more money.

Will Pucovski is seeing his current return to cricket as a “second chance” and is becoming an important part of Victoria’s quest to make it to three consecutive Sheffield Shield finals. At the Sydney Cricket Ground on Saturday, he ended his three-year drought without a century by hitting 131 runs off of 302 balls against New South Wales. Despite this accomplishment, bad weather ended the match before Victoria needed to win by taking just two wickets. Will Pucovski century was a bright point, especially in light of the fact that it came so soon after his eleventh concussion, which he had on January 21 during a Second XI match against South Australia. The 26-year-old is confident about his quick two-week recuperation after the event. I was struck with a bouncer, so it was a fairly typical concussion. Most likely merely made a technical error on that one specific ball. was struck, and had a very typical reaction to the concussion, which was, in a way, a major plus. Though Pucovski admitted on SEN Radio that “it was obviously frustrating that I missed that first Shield game back, it was a pretty simple concussion (and) return-to-play process in terms of the doctors and working with them and getting through all that.”
